Karen Sutherland joined the Buildings Research Division at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) in 2009. Ms. Sutherland performs research and analysis on high-performance housing, conducting energy use modeling, analyzing utility data, and providing technical assistance to industry partners. Through her presentations and papers, she seeks to educate industry partners and building owners on cost-effective energy efficiency measures for residential construction, primarily affordable housing. Ms. Sutherland has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida. Karen is a certified RESNET® Class I Energy Rater. Before joining FSEC, she worked in energy and environmentally conscious residential real estate sales and prior to that, as a statistical programmer.
